Geographic Information Systems (GIS) touch on virtually every aspect of life in the Boise Valley, from economic vitality to ecological integrity, from air quality to public safety. GIS is among the most critical technologies used by private and government agencies to visualize our community and our world. This is the same technology that has brought us Google Earth, MapQuest and other GIS services we readily recognize. This GIS day event will feature several speakers who will discuss GIS technologies and how you can enter this rapidly growing field. Our goal is to raise awareness of GIS in the community and showcase how this technology is used in our region and across the world. This event provides an opportunity to meet and talk to GIS professionals in the Boise area. Admittance is free. Events will start at 10:00 AM at Boise State University’s new Interactive Learning Center.
